In honor of Jane Jacob's birthday (May 4th) LAUNCH and |re|design Cleveland are putting together a series of design queries based upon the premise of "who owns the street?" Throughout the city of Cleveland various areas will be identified and placed within some sort of logistic context to shape the question of whether or not that particular area is functioning to its full potential. The sites in question will be based upon specific neighborhoods that will benefit from an intervention that would improve amenity, access, safety or livability. Designers will have two months to study an area and comprise simple documentation of their proposal. Submissions will be electronic and there are no registration fees. Currently the plan is to collect and display submissions as possible solutions to reactivate urban area so while the problems may be site specific the solutions may have the ability to be utilized at multiple locations.
