W118th - Bordered on North by Geraldine Ave., bordered on South by Lorain Ave.

Lorain Ave. offers a commercial corridor in a dense residential neighborhood that has easy access to (and is contained by) interstate 90 and 71. The site itself is roughly 40' wide (from building to building) and roughly 355' long. The northern half grants access to commercial and residential parking.

The site is within easy walking distance to Eastman Library and McKinley Elementary.

Designers are asked to offer plans or ideas to activate the street through physical interventions. This may include altering the street in any way including closing the street to vehicular traffic is necessary. Consideration should be paid however, to current use and adjacent properties.

There is the utmost flexibility for ideas. Sketch what you think is missing, what would make the area better, what is needed to create a proper sense of proportion, of use, of closure.
